Ogden Court Docket Searches
Ogden itself posts no city-only docket database. Public case history lives in Utah Courts Xchange instead. For a city citation, infraction, ordinance case, class B or C misdemeanor, or small claim, pick the Justice Court jurisdiction. Then choose Ogden Justice Court. A felony, class A misdemeanor, major civil action, domestic case, probate matter, or Justice Court appeal takes the other path. Select District Court there, then Weber County - Ogden District Court.
- Read the court name and case or citation number from the newest paper.
- Open Xchange and select District Court, Justice Court, or both.
- Enter the case number, citation number, or wildcard party name.
- Narrow the scope to Weber County and the correct Ogden court location.
- Open Case History/Documents and read Proceedings, settings, and disposition.
- Confirm an urgent date or missing record with the clerk that holds the case.
Xchange is not the only route. You can search a courthouse terminal, call the clerk, visit in person, or mail Utah Courts' written Request for a Record. MyCourtCase offers a free account for an eligible party or victim, but only after identity and case-number checks. It is not a public name search.
Two Ogden Court Record Addresses
Ogden hosts both a city court and Weber County's state trial court. So the address on your notice matters. The Justice Court sits at 310 26th Street, Ogden, Utah 84401. Its clerk answers at 801-629-8560, and the fax line is 801-393-6629. Hours run Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding holidays.
The Weber County - Ogden District Court is a separate court at 2525 Grant Avenue. Its clerk line is 801-395-1079. Check the notice before you drive. Showing up at 26th Street for a Grant Avenue case will not reach the right Ogden court record. It will not reach the right calendar either.
Inside the Ogden Municipal Court
Ogden's municipal tribunal carries the official name Ogden Justice Court. Within its jurisdiction it hears traffic cases, city ordinance violations, infractions, lower misdemeanors, and small claims. Utah treats it as a court not of record. Even so, its clerk keeps the Ogden case file. That clerk also feeds case information into CORIS, the statewide case-management system.
The court's official page covers traffic, payment, rights, small claims, and Webex routes. It offers no separate public Ogden docket search form, and that split matters. The city page handles local operations. Xchange shows public case history, and Utah Court Calendars lists public settings.
Ogden Court Record Scope Choice
In Xchange, the jurisdiction field divides Justice Court data from District Court data. Set the location to Ogden when working the Justice Court side. On the District Court side, confirm Weber County - Ogden District Court. Because case and citation numbers are not unique statewide, keep County and Court Location attached to every result you save.
- Case summary
- The public overview of the case and key information.
- Case history
- The expanded record reached from the case-number link.
- Proceedings
- The dated list of filings, settings, and court actions.
- Document link
- A separate route to an available public electronic filing.
One caution. A payment result is not the case history, and a calendar entry is not a final disposition. Read each source only for the task it serves.
Finding Ogden Court Dates
Public settings appear on Utah Court Calendars. Search there by case number, party, judge, or attorney. Then pick Ogden Justice Court or Ogden District Court as the location. The calendar refreshes on weekdays at 5:30 a.m. and may include a Webex Event link. For an urgent setting that is missing or that clashes with a notice, call the local clerk.
| Date | The day currently listed for the hearing. |
|---|---|
| Time | The scheduled start time, subject to court changes. |
| Courtroom | The room when the public setting supplies one. |
| Judge | The judicial officer assigned to the setting. |
| Setting Type | The listed event, such as arraignment, review, motion hearing, or trial. |
| Webex | The remote-event link when supplied by the court. |
Docket history can lag behind reality. A new setting may appear in Proceedings while the old one still sits in the record. Trust the newest order and the current calendar, and let the clerk settle any conflict.
Ogden Court Record Webex Route
Ogden Justice Court points users to Utah's calendar and Webex guidance. A remote link sometimes appears with the setting. When it does not, contact the court. Do not assume the hearing was canceled or moved in person. Have the case number and notice ready so staff can identify the event quickly.
Recording is not allowed. Utah Code of Judicial Administration Rule 4-401.02 restricts recording, photography, and transmission without authorization. Treat a remote hearing as the court proceeding it is. Its docket entry is bound by the same public and private record rules.
Ogden Traffic Ticket Lookups
A ticket written inside Ogden City limits should name Ogden Justice Court. Search Xchange under Justice Court scope using the citation number, party name, and Ogden location. Then check the Utah calendar for the setting. If the officer wrote the ticket somewhere else, follow the court printed on it. Living in Ogden does not send the case to Ogden.
Ogden's official traffic page allows payment of most non-mandatory violations within 14 days when the person admits the charge. Pay online, by mail, or in person. To fight it, contact the court within 14 days and request an initial date. The judge then sets a trial date at that appearance. The county-wide split between citation records and hearing routes runs well beyond one city page. See Weber County traffic court records for it.
Ogden Payment Is Not Docket Search
The Ogden payment screen is not a docket search. Enter a citation or case number, pay an eligible fine, and the transaction is done. Payment never shows the full case history behind it. Xchange carries that side. It holds the charge, settings, plea, disposition, account entries, and later case events when public. A receipt alone cannot tell the whole story of an Ogden court record.
Check the case before you pay. Confirm whether appearance is mandatory. Also check whether the court has entered a warrant or later order. And if you plan to plead not guilty, use the clerk route the court describes rather than the payment screen.
How Ogden Cases Reach the County
Ogden cases grow into Weber County - Ogden District Court matters in several ways. Felonies, class A misdemeanors, large civil cases, domestic matters, probate, guardianship, adoption, and name changes all start there. An appeal from Justice Court lands there too. The appeal usually proceeds as a trial de novo. That means a fresh hearing or trial rather than a copy of the city court screen.
Docket flow: Ogden Justice Court › Weber County - Ogden District Court › Utah Court of Appeals or Utah Supreme Court when the appellate route applies
Juvenile matters go to Second District Juvenile Court instead, and they do not surface as ordinary public Xchange results. For a fuller picture of court levels, see the Weber County court docket overview.
Ogden Court Records After Judgment
An Ogden Justice Court order can create follow-up work with a city office. The community-service instructions tell court-ordered participants to contact Community Services within three business days. Participants must use a registered nonprofit in Ogden City. That is a post-judgment route. It is not a separate docket portal.
The case history stays in Utah Courts systems. A city department may help carry out an order, but the file does not move. Keep the court case number handy when you call the service office. Questions about the judgment, completion entry, or case status go back to the clerk.
Who Can See Ogden Court Records
Public Ogden case information travels three routes: Xchange online, a public terminal, or the originating clerk. A written Request for a Record can chase down a missing filing. It also works for an older file or a copy. Electronic documents in public District Court cases may be viewable when imaged. That covers cases filed since July 1, 2010. Xchange charges for online sessions, searches, and document links. Courthouse-terminal access is free.
Key access rules.
Rule 4-202.02 classifies Utah court records as public, private, protected, sealed, or otherwise restricted.
Rule 4-202.04 governs requests and proof of entitlement for non-public records.
Rule 4-202.07 supplies the review path after access is denied.
Not every Ogden court record is public. Juvenile, sealed, expunged, adoption, and child-welfare files never appear like ordinary public records. Many domestic filings stay private too, even when the case history or final order remains public. The court decides how each record is classified.
Ogden Court Record Context
Ogden counted 89,510 residents in the July 1, 2025 Census estimate, up from 87,321 in the 2020 Census. Those figures mark the city as Weber County's largest and its busiest court hub. They say nothing about filings. The local Justice Court publishes no annual case count of its own.
For actual case volume, turn to the Utah judiciary dashboard and filter by Ogden Justice Court, year, and case type. Second District totals span far more than the city, so do not read them as Ogden-only figures.
Ogden Court Record Terminal Access
A courthouse terminal is the practical fallback. Use it when a paid guest session is too narrow, or when an online docket search needs local review. Utah Courts states that public Xchange access is available at most district courthouses. The Utah State Law Library offers it too. Ask the Ogden clerk where public inspection is available before you travel. The terminal shows public information only, never sealed or private files.
Online and counter services answer different needs. Xchange currently lists a $10 guest transaction plus separate search and document charges. A terminal avoids the online access charge. Certified copies still require a clerk request and the applicable court fee. Start by identifying the exact Ogden court record, document, and case number. That one step keeps you from requesting a full file. You may need only a single judgment, order, or docket entry.
