Weber County Xchange Search Screen
The live Utah Courts Xchange portal needs JavaScript. It puts the account route ahead of the public search. Guest access is temporary. Once a match turns up, write down the case number and court location. The official landing screen at the link shows the statewide entry point. It is used for Weber County docket searches.

That landing screen is no substitute for the clerk. It feeds a public search into CORIS-derived case information, while certified copies, older records, and restricted-access requests stay with the originating court.
Name-Based Case Searches
Utah Courts Xchange is the public statewide layer. It covers Weber County District and Justice Court records stored in CORIS. A name search runs on Last Name / Company plus First Name. Utah recommends an asterisk wildcard. A file may carry a middle initial. It may also carry a suffix, a spelling variation, or a company name. Begin at the likely court level, then narrow to Weber County or one specific court.
- Open Xchange and choose Guest, One-time Use, or the appropriate account route.
- Select District Court, Justice Court, or both under Jurisdiction.
- Enter Last Name / Company and First Name with a wildcard when useful.
- Choose case type and Weber County or a specific court location.
- Add a date range or criminal-defendant birth date only when it improves the match.
- Run the billable search and compare county, court, type, number, and filing date.
- Open the case number for extended history or Case History / Documents for the summary.
Utah Courts Xchange help documents the core search fields. A broad query can pull in many names, so check the court and case type before paying for detail.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jurisdiction | Selector | Unspecified | District Court, Justice Court, or both |
| Last Name / Company | Text | Optional | Accepts a person or business; wildcard advised |
| First Name | Text | Optional | Wildcard can account for initials and suffixes |
| Case Type | Dropdown | Optional | Narrows the Utah case category |
| Search Scope | Dropdown | Optional | Statewide, county, or court location |
| Date Range | Date controls | Optional | Supports filing, disposition, and judgment searches |
Weber County Xchange Jurisdiction
The jurisdiction choice decides which set of Weber County dockets gets searched. For felonies, class A misdemeanors, large civil cases, domestic matters, probate, guardianship, adoption, name changes, and Justice Court appeals, choose the Weber County - Ogden District Court. A local Justice Court handles traffic and infractions. It also covers ordinances, class B or C misdemeanors, and small claims. Unsure of the level? Select both.
No county-only Weber search portal exists. Xchange is statewide. Its scope control can trim a query to Weber County or a single court location. The Ogden District Court clerk and each Justice Court clerk keep their own records. The public still sees one statewide data layer.
Case Number Searches
A known case number is often the fastest query. Utah says the first two digits show the filing year. The official help offers 085502036 as a neutral traffic-number example. No fixed Weber-only prefix appears in the public documentation, and numbers are not unique statewide. Keep the County and Court Location columns with any result.
Type the number without inventing punctuation. If it will not match, check it against the latest citation or court notice. Then search the right jurisdiction. A citation number has the same location problem. Pair it with the issuing city or Justice Court. Missing a number entirely? The originating clerk can confirm the file identifier by phone or at the counter.
Weber County Wildcard Searches
Wildcards cut down on missed matches caused by how a name was keyed in. Searching Doe* with John* can catch initials, suffixes, or longer spellings. For a business, use the Last Name / Company field. An empty exact-name result does not mean no Weber County case exists.
A result that hits the 500-row ceiling needs narrowing. Use case type, Weber County scope, court location, or a date range. Drop an over-specific field if the search returns nothing. Each search can carry a charge. Refine the query before clicking Search and avoid repeated broad transactions.
Case Search Results Explained
Each Xchange result row shows the county, court location, case type, case number, filing date, name, birth date when available, party code, and links to case history or documents. Open the detail view and you may see more. Parties, attorneys, charges or civil type, judge, Proceedings, settings, disposition, account information, and public document links can all appear there. It is the fullest public picture of the court docket entry.
| Case Number | The identifier, read with county and court because it is not unique statewide. |
|---|---|
| Case Style | The caption or party names used for the court matter. |
| Case Type | The Utah category for criminal, civil, domestic, probate, traffic, or another case. |
| Filed Date | The date the court opened or filed the matter. |
| Proceedings | The chronological list of entered events, settings, and actions. |
| Documents | Public electronic filings that may carry a separate Purchase link. |
| Disposition | The recorded outcome or status, which should be read with the full text. |
A charge or complaint is an allegation, not a judgment. A listed setting also fails to prove the hearing happened. Read the chronological entries and the final order before drawing a conclusion.
Weber County Links and Documents
The case-number link and the document link do different jobs. Clicking the case number opens extended case history and minute entries. But it does not retrieve the filed papers. Case History / Documents opens the summary. It may show a Purchase link for an available public electronic document.
Xchange lists a $10 guest or one-time transaction. That covers up to ten searches in a session under the current rule, plus $1 per document. The guest session lasts 24 hours. Unused credit can vanish when the browser closes. Fees can change, so check the official Xchange terms before purchase. A printed summary is not a certified copy.
Two Ways to Search: County and State
Weber County runs no separate court-case portal alongside Xchange. The statewide service takes its place, scoping to the county or a named court. Two useful approaches follow inside the same official system: a statewide sweep when the venue is unknown, and a local filter when the Weber court is known.
| Statewide Search | Weber County Search Scope |
|---|---|
| Checks participating Utah District and Justice Court data broadly. | Narrows the same Xchange data to Weber County or a named local court. |
| Useful when a case may be filed outside Weber County. | Useful for a known Ogden District or local Justice Court case. |
| Can produce more similar-name results. | Reduces false matches by retaining court location. |
MyCourtCase is another official route. It serves a party, an eligible participant, or a criminal-case victim who verifies identity. Inside, it can show case history, papers, payments, hearings, and notices, but it does not work as a public name search for a docket.
Weber County Search Fallbacks
You are not limited to Online Xchange. Walk into most Utah district courthouses. Or use the Utah State Law Library and search public access there. For a Weber County District Court file, the clerk sits at 2525 Grant Avenue in Ogden. The phone number is 801-395-1079. Justice Court cases go through that local clerk instead. Staff can point you to the right request route, though they cannot give legal advice.
When the online docket comes up empty, try a public terminal or the clerk counter. Call the court where the case was filed. Or submit Utah Courts' Request for a Record. Ask for a certified copy whenever you need an official version. Hearing dates work best through the Weber County court schedule. A phone call can confirm anything urgent. Older or non-imaged court records may take a written request. The clerk cannot release them before that.
Older Weber County Docket Gaps
Xchange coverage depends on when each court started using CORIS. Most District Courts joined the system by the end of 1998. Justice Courts converted at different times. So an older Weber County Justice Court case may carry fewer details than a current District Court file.
Search both jurisdictions before giving up. Broaden the name, check the court location, and drop a tight date filter. Then ask the clerk about the Weber County record. It may be still local, archived, or reduced to a converted summary. Utah Courts notes that records more than 50 years old often rest elsewhere. They sit with the Utah State Archives. So an empty online docket result never proves a case did not exist.
Which Cases Stay Restricted
Xchange hands back public information only. Sealed, expunged, juvenile, adoption, civil-commitment, child-welfare, and termination-of-parental-rights matters stay out of ordinary public results. In domestic cases, histories and final orders can be public while petitions, financial exhibits, contact details, and other filings stay private under Utah court-record rules.
A missing Weber County result might mean the wrong court, a conversion gap, or a restricted classification. Authorized people can file a written request with identification and papers showing entitlement. Everyone else follows the court's access process or seeks an order. Utah Code of Judicial Administration Rules 4-202.02 and 4-202.04 govern classification and requests. The court decides access. The search portal does not.
Weber County Party Access
Parties and participants get another route. It runs through the official MyCourtCase portal, which differs from public Xchange docket searching. A verified account can display hearings, forms, documents, payments, and notices. Is public material missing? The Request for a Record form opens the written clerk route. Neither tool changes a record's status as public, private, protected, sealed, or restricted.
Weber County Search Result Limit
Xchange caps a single Weber County docket search at 500 rows. That ceiling is a limit, not a tally of every match. If your query hits it, tighten the docket search before paying again. Filter by jurisdiction, court location, case type, or date. Common names need extra care. Check the filing date and party code, not just the spelling of the name. That way the court docket entry you pull actually belongs to the right person.
